Overview:
Beaune, France, the wine capital of Burgundy is a
small medieval city that sits in the heart of, you guessed it,
wine country. A walk down any of the cobblestone streets in
Beaune will reveal this fact as most stores are caves
or stores selling wine. You don't have to buy a bottle of local
wine to enjoy it; most caves will have a degustation or daily
wine tasting. The
major attraction in Beaune, after wine of course, is its
Hospices de Beaune, former hospital for the poor, now a museum.
Located in the center just across from the tourist office and
Les Halles. Beaune
is easily accessed off the A6 Autoroute, there are two exits
both marked Beaune or there is a train station. Beaune is 2 ½
hours from Paris by train and 3 by car.
